Medicare Advantage Plans
Is Right For You?
That’s where I can help! As a licensed insurance broker in Arizona who is contracted with a variety of different insurance carriers, I can provide you with the valuable service of explaining the differences between each Medicare Advantage or supplemental plan. I can then provide you with a personalized needs analysis and cost comparison so that you can make an informed decision and choose the plan that’s right for you.
Medicare Advantage "Part C"
Medicare Advantage, also known as “Part C” are Medicare Plans offered by Private Insurance Companies and approved by Medicare.
The types of Medicare Advantage Plans I am contracted with are, but not limited to, HMO and PPO plans that include Part D coverage (Medicare Prescription Drug Plan) and without Part D. To qualify for a Medicare Advantage Plan you must have both Part A and Part B.
Medicare Advantage Plans are required to cover as much as Original Medicare. Many plans choose to cover additional benefits such as dental, eyewear and gym memberships. Most of these plans have $0 monthly premiums.
Special Needs Plans are Medicare Advantage Plans that have specific eligibility requirements.
Dual Eligible Plans are Special Needs Plans for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. Another type of Special Needs Plan is for people who have a chronic or disabling condition such as Diabetes or Chronic Heart Failure.
If you qualify for one of these Special Needs Plans, you have a Special Election Period (SEP) to join the plan throughout the year and don’t have to wait for the Annual Election Period in October 15th – December 7th each year.
Health Plans for Individuals and Families
Short term health insurance, also called temporary health insurance or term health insurance, might be right for you. It can bridge a gap in coverage until you can choose a longer term solution. This can be useful when you are between jobs or retirement and Medicare eligibility dates. This coverage is not “minimum essential coverage” as defined by the ACA. These plans are subject to medical underwriting and pre-existing conditions.
Dental insurance is designed to offer you coverage for common dental care issues and to help you budget for dental services at all levels, preventive, basic and major.
Vision insurance is designed to help you cover and budget for ongoing vision care expenses like routine eye exams, prescription glasses and contact lenses.
Accident plans pay fixed amounts per event for expenses related to qualifying accidental bodily injuries. This may include emergency room fees, doctor visits, visits to urgent care, ambulance, surgical services, and physical therapy.
Critical Illness insurance, also referred to as Critical Care insurance or Critical Illness coverage, provides a lump-sum cash benefit to help cover expenses associated with a qualifying serious illness. This can pair with a major medical plan, temporary health insurance plan, or stand-alone.
Buy coverage for a specified period of time, in an amount that meets the needs of your family. These plans are subject to medical underwriting. Contact me to design a plan that works best for you and your family.
